Does anybody in these parts watch Justified? I was just wondering because my wife and I just completed a marathon of DVR recordings of the first season and agreed it’s probably our favorite show not on premium cable. I should probably point out we don’t watch Mad Men, which certainly seems like it would be the more popular pick for that distinction.

1:Love it. They get Elmore right, and Tim Olyphant is scary and funny in the correct proportion. A perfect fit.

I really like Justified, though I thought they got a little lazy in relying on the plot device of “the most harmless-seeming character is actually the most dangerous!” I’m thinking especially of the episode where the trophy wife is hooking up with the horse trainer.

The last few episodes of Justified were pretty disappointing, I thought. Kind of derailed as it sought to unite its various threads. Some things just don’t need to be serialized, I say.

I enjoyed the tension between Bo and Boyd and trying to figure out if Boyd was a genuine believer in the last couple episodes. They didn’t leave much to take from season one to season two, so it will be interesting to see where they go with the next season. I’m assuming it’s not just going to be the main character (drawing a blank on his name) butting heads with the Miami drug lord.
